Israel Trip Countdown: 5 days til arrival

Shabbat Shalom partners and friends!

Two weeks is not much time to prepare to leave a home, get ready to work from home from 6,000 miles away, raise funds and accomplish all the logistics of such a trip. Thank God that he is helping with the details! I was invited to stay with a dear friend and so I will fly in to Ben Gurion and take the sherut (airport shared taxi) to Jerusalem. After recovering from the flight I will begin the prayer adventure. One thing about having God as your travel agent, you never quite know what the day will bring, or where you will end up. But, since the main focus of the trip is to intercede for Israel and encourage those whom I connect with, I plan to share with you the prayer focus as God leads me to pray starting now.

fearThe Lord is directing my steps through this time. As he orchestrates the details I will share here what I can. We serve an amazing God! Already I have been blessed to reconnect with some intercessors that have encouraged me and again confirmed the urgency of this mission the Lord has given me. I trust most of you have already been praying for Israel. Even if the biased news media portrays misinformed perspective, God uses this to touch our hearts to pray for his mercy, protection and ultimately salvation for the people in the Middle East. We know that God has appointed and anointed Israel with a special role for these latter days. Israel: the land, the nation, the people have been chosen by God to manifest himself in the last days. We must pray his heart and not be moved only by our human emotions or we will become weary and heavy with burdens too great to be borne. Find good news sources like CBN News to gain a good prayer perspective.

Prayer for today:

Father God, hear our cry to hear your heart as we lift up Israel and her enemies to you. Show us how to pray, what to pray, and when to pray! Move on our hearts to pray without ceasing, to pray in faith, and to trust you to answer.

  • Pray for continued protection from the Iron Dome for the citizens of Israel. Thank God for this, but pray that hearts will not be dependent on the IDF or man’s efforts but that hearts would call out to God and trust him.
  • Pray for wisdom and discernment for leaders. Pray for God’s purposes to be fulfilled through their decisions.
  • Pray for Muslim Extremists to be overwhelmed and overcome by the presence of God. Pray that evil will be revealed and confusion will fill their minds to prevent the plans of the enemy to use them against God’s purposes.
  • Pray for dreams and visions from God for Muslims and Jews alike throughout the Middle East to reveal to them their Messiah, the Holy One of Israel, their true Savior and Redeemer. In the midst of war and suffering God can and will bring refreshing as His Spirit moves across the land.
  • Pray against the spirit of fear that empowers terrorists. This fear is affecting not only individuals as victims, but leaders of these people and even global leaders as they are quick to condemn and take the easiest route to stop the uncomfortable position it places them in. Pray for a bold spirit to arise in leaders to stand for righteousness and life, and against that spirit of fear and death.
